Walk through tunnels of lights this Christmas at Kew Gardens. The Kew Gardens Christmas lights are part of one of the most iconic Christmas events near London. An explosion of colour, creative designs and Christmas spirit, this is a festive season must-see.
Every year, millions of bulbs light up the exotic plants, botanical glasshouses and pathways through Kew Gardens for the festive period. Walk along trails lit by lanterns and a canopy of stars to see light installations and sculptures. A Kew Gardens Christmas walk is a winter treat to get you in the festive spirit.
See trees draped in a curtain of colour, walk through tunnels of lights and see flickering illuminations reflected in the lake as you walk the 1.5-mile (2.6km) winter trail route. The Kew Gardens light show is open from 4.20pm till 10pm and you'll find plenty of festive food treats and toasty drinks along the way to keep you warm.
Christmas at Kew runs from Wednesday 16 November 2022 to Sunday 8 January.
This evening winter walk runs from mid-November to early January each year. The Christmas light show isn’t part of a normal Kew Gardens’ day ticket, but with a Christmas at Kew Gardens ticket valid for the evening light trail, you can get a reduced day price in Kew Gardens.
Enjoy lunch or a very special afternoon tea at the Botanical Brasserie from 12 to 2pm.
Or finish your walk with a sit-down festive meal by booking tickets for Christmas Dinner, with views of the illuminated Palm House Pond.
There’s traditional Christmas food and mulled wine and vegetarian dishes, too. With four sittings available, before or after your visit to the trail, you'll find time to refuel.
There are also a variety of independent street food traders with a selection of winter warmers to keep you going!
