Best Pub Quizzes in London

Flex your brain muscle in the capital. Whether you’re a film buff, a trivia queen or can recall Eurovision second place acts from the 1970s, there are plenty of pub quiz nights in London to choose from. But some are better than others. Here are our favourites, best pub quizzes in London where the questions, the drinks and the vibes combine to create a great trivia night out.

The Lexington, Camden

Calling all pop trivia masters! The Lexington’s Monday pop quiz in Camden is more than a chart rundown. This is a romp through pop history, filled with funny rounds, tricky questions and those “I should have known that one” moments. Your host is Paul Guided Missile, who brings plenty of wit to proceedings. If you know The Lex, you’ll not be surprised to learn its pop quiz is a cut above the average trivia night in London. This is a cool lounge-bar boozer known for its eclectic music nights of 20s jazz and indie DJs playing tunes into the early hours. There are money prizes, teams are up to six people and a multipack of crisps for the team with the best pub name. It’s worth a punt for the crisps alone.

The Honor Oak Pub, Forest Hill

Every Wednesday is quiz time at The Honor Oak Pub in South East London. This is a popular boozer known for regular music, drag nights and comedy shows. But the landlords are also pros at putting on a top quiz night in London and serving delicious burgers, so you could turn up for dinner then settle in for some questions. The trivia quiz is the right side of fun and challenging, with a friendly atmosphere as you try to get your brain cells fired up to win the £50 bar tab prize. The fun starts at 8pm.

Southwark Brewing Company, Southwark

Fancy winning a round of craft beers? Southwark Brewing Company is at the end of the famous Bermondsey Beer Mile and its Taproom Quiz Night gives you a chance to taste its best tipples for free. That’s if your brain can tackle the two picture rounds and current affairs round and answer 50 general knowledge questions. Your £2 entry fee also goes towards a jackpot fund which can run into the hundreds. This pub quiz is on a Friday night from 7pm, but not every week, so check the website for the next one and book your space.

Sounds Familiar, various venues

When they say it’s not about the winning but the taking part, it’s hard to believe it when you’re sitting there with a low score, and the group next to you is clearly winning. But Sounds Familiar is a quiz night in London with a difference. This is a party night music quiz, so the winning really isn’t the most important part – the dance moves are. The Sounds Familiar folk tour London pubs to create a party atmosphere with a quiz filled with hundreds of party bangers and disco classics. Regular pub stops include The Old Queen’s Head in Islington and The Phoenix in Soho. So get ready to dance your way through an evening of music trivia.
