Thistle Hotels is committed to ensuring that as a Company we are 'socially responsible'. We take both our commitment to the environment and to the communities in which we operate seriously, and strive to ensure that we are ethical in all our business practices.

We define our social responsibility into four key areas:

Marketplace –  We constantly strive to ensure all our foods are ethically sourced and we are committed to ensuring that both we, and the partners used in our supply chain, adhere to these standards when it comes to the ethical sourcing of eggs. We are pleased to announce that Thistle are committed to working closely with all our suppliers and third parties to transition to the use of 100% cage free shell eggs by 2020, and ingredients by 2025.

Workplace – We recognise the value and importance of our employees and managing talent within our company is a priority. Our employment policies not only comply with all relevant legislation, but seek to go beyond that in order to ensure that the working environment within all of our business embraces diversity and offers fairness and equality of opportunity in every respect.

Environment - Working with suppliers, partners and our team-members we aim to ensure that we all understand the environmental impact of our operations. We look to reduce energy and water consumption and increase recycling levels.

Community – Ensuring that each of our hotels is an active partner in the communities in which they operate.
Our commitment to the community includes supporting local charities at individual hotels. We form and maintain links with local schools and colleges for work experience placements and support employees that wish to volunteer to assist local community projects where appropriate.

We are committed to building a culture where our employees, guests, suppliers and contractors recognise our commitment to ensuring that our hotels operate successfully in their communities and that we achieve our goal as a company of long-term sustainable success.

Modern Slavery Act
We have zero tolerance towards modern slavery. Accordingly we are fully supportive of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and its intention to tackle modern slavery in all its forms, including slavery, servitude, forced labour and trafficking.
