Thistle Cheltenham Hotel
Cheltenham loves a festival. In fact, it has five, dedicated to Literature, Music (the composer Gustav Holst, best known for The Planets, was born here in 1874) Science, Jazz – and, of course, National Hunt racing. But its original attraction was the ‘waters’, and Cheltenham Spa was a favourite haunt of, among others, Princess (later Queen) Victoria, the Duke of Wellington, Jane Austen and poet Lord Byron.
At Thistle Cheltenham, we’re doing our bit to maintain the town’s tradition for relaxation and well-being. Our Otium Health & Leisure Club has everything to need to refresh mind and body – the only water involved being our heated indoor swimming pool. Just the thing at the end of a day exploring our beautiful Regency streets and gardens, or getting down to business in one of our 15 meeting rooms, the largest of which seats 400 theatre-style.
