THISTLE’S RISING STAR WINS CATERER AND HOTELKEEPER ACORN AWARD
Thistle Kensington Gardens’ Operation Manager, Marianne Brown, has this week been recognised for her contributions to the hospitality industry with the prestigious Caterer and Hotelkeeper ‘Acorn’ Award.
The annual ceremony, which is in its 25th year, recognises the hospitality industry’s brightest young stars and awards 30 people under 30 who have been nominated by their peers and colleagues for having made an impression in their field.
Marianne began her career at Thistle Euston and Cannizaro House on Thistle’s management training programme. Proving to be a rising star very early on, she quickly progressed into management roles, overseeing teams of over fifty colleagues. With experience across Front of House, Front of Office, Reservations and Housekeeping, Marianne has recently moved into her second Operations Manager role at the newly refurbished Thistle Kensington Gardens.
At just 29, Marianne is firmly on the path to a General Management position within Thistle, who has proudly supported and nurtured her as she continues her remarkable progress within the group.
Marianne was nominated by Christian Armstrong, People & Development Director, Guoman &Thistle Hotels, who comments: “Since Marianne’s very first day on the training programme at Thistle, she has grown from strength to strength and I am extremely proud of her recent achievement. She is a fantastic ambassador for Thistle and it’s great to see her hard work being recognised by the Acorn panel. ‘’
Commenting on her recent accolade, Marianne said; “I’m thrilled to have been recognised with such a prestigious award. Having worked for Thistle since my late teens, this is such a wonderful career highlight and I look forward to further developing my skills with the group.’’
