Hotel group’s model employees are the most stylish in the business

Thistle employees have beat off strong competition from Crowne Plaza, Emirates Airlines and Barclays to be named top of the style stakes for their smart, contemporary corporate wear.  The hotel group was recognised by the 2009 Company Clothing Industry Awards for its uniform collection’s spot-on style - winning the Best Careerwear Design for the formal tailoring category.  Thistle was presented with the accolade at the final awards gala held in London recently, hosted by super-stylish presenter and musician Myleen Klass.

The Company Clothing Industry Awards are dedicated to recognising the best in design and service workwear across various industries and Thistle’s detailed tailoring, modern lines and fresh aqua, black and white colour scheme impressed the judges as the leading design. Looking professional, yet stylish at work is imperative for Thistle colleagues, as the group is currently undergoing a complete refurbishment and rebranding to suit its new contemporary look and feel; currently investing over £100million.

Heiko Figge, chief operating officer Thistle Hotels comments: “The group is transforming, in terms of its fantastic service and facilities for guests, but also its aesthetic appeal – therefore, we’re delighted the smart, contemporary appearance of our corporate wear has been formally recognised. “We have continued to invest in our colleagues and have ensured we have comfortable workwear for all that complements the new, contemporary Thistle.  It’s imperative for us that colleagues’ uniforms are inline with our future vision and communicate our dedication to quality and style.”

A&D Corporate Clothing, the design-team behind Thistle’s stylish uniforms, emphasised Thistle’s relaxed ‘home from home’ philosophy in the creation process and decided that modern styling in soft colours, curvaceous flowing lines and the luxurious yet practical fabrics would appeal to Thistle’s guests; demanding high quality in a relaxed, friendly environment.   Claire Conley, Head of Design at A&D Corporate Clothing added: “It was always A&D’s intention to make the Thistle collection unique and different to any other uniform in the market place as this is how we saw the Thistle brand itself.  Thistle challenged the team to create a collection that would reflect their professionalism and modern style to stand out in the industry.  The finished designs have certainly achieved this and the award win proves it!”
