Bupa Great North Run
The 13-mile Great North Run, from Newcastle-upon-Tyne via Gateshead to South Shields, attracts 52,000 participants every year. Since the first half-marathon in 1981, both serious contenders and people running for fun or charity have come to Newcastle to take part.
City Sightseeing Tour
