Kenneth MacMillan's acclaimed production of Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet, premièred in February 1965 with Fonteyn and Nureyev, returns to the Royal Ballet's repertoire at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Boris Gruzin conducts.
The Birds Eye View film festival is the UK's first annual film festival devoted exclusively to women in film, hosted at various venues in London including the BFI Southbank and the ICA. The festival incorporates dozens of events over nine days.
Philip Glass's Satyagraha, based on Gandhi's early life in South Africa, is revived at the London Coliseum in English National Opera and Metropolitan Opera's co-production. Staged by Improbable Theatre's Phelim McDermott Julian Crouch, its 2007 première was rapturously received.
