What's on?
Derby's Darley Park attracts people in their thousands for this classical concert, armed with blankets, picnic hampers and candles. Past events have included a community parade, Spitfire displays and a programme of musical crowd-pleasers. The evening closes with a fireworks display.
Derby city centre remembers the unfortunate turn of events for Bonnie Prince Charlie with an impressive parade and re-enactment of a battle - loud muskets included.
Every third Thursday of the month, the large open area of the Market Place in Derby is enlivened by a dozen stalls selling locally grown and sourced produce.
Every year, Derby's Markeaton Park hosts an impressive pyrotechnic display to commemorate the 1605 attempt by Guy Fawkes to blow up the Houses of Parliament. The free event is accompanied by a funfair.
