With twenty on-site meeting rooms and special events venues, configurable to any style from theatre-style to boardroom to training & seminar, Thistle East Midlands is the perfect business meeting and special events venue near Derby and East Midlands. And for event attendees arriving by car, there is ample parking available on site at an additional charge.
We have 20 meeting rooms, all air-conditioned and offering plenty of natural light to create a comfortable, productive environment. Plus we have break-out areas where you can stretch your legs, chat informally and catch up on your messages.
We offer a full range of food and drink as part of your event hire package, including an expanded range of healthy options. Arrival drinks, elevenses, buffet lunches and afternoon tea can be served in your meeting room; you may also choose to use our Sherwood Restaurant.

Derby is the Real Ale capital of England, and local producers come out in force for the annual CAMRA Summer Beer Festival. The Assembly Rooms are mobbed by beer-lovers eager to sample the scores of real ales on offer.
Derby gets active as The Big Fun Run comes to Darley Park. The 5km organised annual run invites people of all ages to take part, in the name of fun and of whatever charity you want to support.
The Friends Provident T20 begins with a group format in June, before quarter finals in July and Finals Day at Southampton's Rose Bowl in August. Derbyshire Phantoms play their home games in Derby and Chesterfield.
Every third Thursday of the month, the large open area of the Market Place in Derby is enlivened by a dozen stalls selling locally grown and sourced produce.
If the idea of sticking needles into your skin appeals, Derby's Body Art Festival is for you. The two-day event welcomes hundreds of artists. There are live bands, tattoo competitions and plenty of show-offs exhibiting their tattoos to admiring fans.
