The Formula One Malaysian Grand Prix takes place at the fabulous Sepang International Circuit near Kuala Lumpur. Over 100,000 fans roar the teams on at one of the noisiest and most colourful sporting occasions anywhere in the world.
Celebrated on the May full moon, Vesak is the most auspicious day in the Buddhist calendar, marking the birth, enlightenment and death of Buddha. Celebrations take place before dawn in temples all over Malaysia.
The spectacular Sabah Dragon Boat Race takes place in Likas Bay, Kota Kinabalu. Local teams race in beautifully-painted boats with prows carved like dragon heads. Each boat has a cox who keeps the rowers in time by beating ceremonial drums.
